A teenager's going away party descended into an out-of-control riot with a pole thrown through a window narrowly missing a baby and the host's dad knocked unconscious, according to reports.

Neighbours were "terrorized" and "injured" and a home was completely damaged, 9 news Perth reports, and the scenes of total mayhem were captured on video.

Dramatic footage from Saturday night's incident in Perth, Australia, appears to show a fence post being flung with force into a window, and reports claim it just avoided a six-week-old baby.

The clip shows a mob of teenagers out on the street among residents, with shouts heard, bricks launched, people falling to the floor, and one person seen punched in the head.

The 17-year-old party host's father was reportedly knocked unconscious in the chaos before being rescued by neighbours who were also targeted.

Reports claim a baby was hidden in a bathroom as a fence and car window were smashed in.

The 51-year-old dad is recovering in hospital with a broken jaw but is believed to be in a stable condition.

A WA Police spokesman told news.com.au: “Several calls were made to police after uninvited guests began smashing bottles in the backyard of a house, and began spilling out onto the street shortly before midnight.

"A brick was thrown through the window of a house narrowly missing a young baby and a man who confronted the brick thrower was knocked unconscious."

The party was supposed to mark the family moving from Waikiki, an outer southern suburb of Perth, to Victoria, Australia.

Police are investigating the incident.

Anyone who can assist with identifying suspects is asked to call 131 444.
