Even Democrats can’t stay awake as Nancy Pelosi drones on and on.
As the House Minority Leader launched a House filibuster of sorts today, Rep. Doris Matsui had trouble staying awake.
Pelosi spoke on and on in defense of illegal aliens on the House floor, frequently stumbling over her words and the names of so-called “Dreamers.”
The longer she went, the heavier Matsui’s eyelids got, and the lower her head sank.
Pelosi profiled illegals who Democrats want to make citizens. Matsui perked up for a bit and listened to Pelosi, before returning to her slumber.
Director Quentin Tarantino said fellow director Roman Polanski “didn’t rape” a 13-year-old girl he pleaded guilty to having sex with in the 1970s and that Polanski’s victim “wanted to have it,” Variety reported, citing 2003 audio that just resurfaced online.
Polanski was arrested in 1977 for rape by use of drugs, perversion, sodomy and lewd and lascivious acts upon a child under 14, the outlet said, adding that Polanski fled the United States after pleading guilty to unlawful sex with a minor.
In the 2003 interview, shock jock Howard Stern insisted to Tarantino that Polanski raped a 13-year-old girl, but Tarantino pushed back and defended Polanski:
He didn’t rape a 13-year-old. It was statutory rape, alright? That’s not quite the same thing, alright? … He had sex with a minor, alright? That’s not rape. To me, when you use the word “rape” … you’re talking about violent, throwing them down; it’s like one of the most violent crimes in the world … Throwing the word “rape” around is like throwing the word “racist” around, OK? It doesn’t apply to everything that people use it for, alright? … He was guilty of having sex with a minor, alright?
Stern’s co-host Robin Quivers argued that Polanski’s victim didn’t want to have sex with him, but Tarantino didn’t see it that way.
“No, that was not the case at all,” he replied. “She wanted to have it and dated the guy.”
“She was 13!” Quivers shouted back.
Tarantino then argued that “we’re talking about America’s morals. We’re not talking about the morals in Europe and everything, alright?” Polanski is European.
Stern wasn’t siding with Tarantino, either.
“Wait a minute,” Stern said. “If you have sex with a 13-year-old girl and you’re a grown man, you know that that’s wrong.”
Tarantino then said, “Look, she was down with this” and later said the victim has “talked about it since … ‘No, he didn’t really do anything to me. It was a technicality for being 13.’”
Stern also asked Tarantino, “Would you ever seduce a 13-year-old with pills and booze?”
“No, no, no,” the director replied. “Again, you’re killing him with the pills and booze thing, alright?”
Audio of the interview was pulled from YouTube Tuesday over a Sirius XM copyright claim, Variety said, but it has shown up on other platforms.
The ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee was the victim of a prank phone call by Russian comedians who offered to give him 'compromising' dirt on Donald Trump – including nude photos of the president and a Russian reality show star.
DailyMail.com can disclose that after the prank, his staff engaged in correspondence with what they thought was a Ukrainian politician to try to obtain the 'classified' material promised on the call.
On an audio recording of the prank call posted online, Adam Schiff can be heard discussing the committee's Russia investigation and increasingly bizarre allegations about Trump with a man who claimed to be Andriy Parubiy, the chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament.
The call, made a year ago, was actually from two Russian comedians nicknamed 'Vovan' and 'Lexus' who have become notorious for their phony calls to high-ranking American officials and celebrities, including UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and Elton John.
Its existence was first reported by The Atlantic but not how a staff member working for the minority on the House Intelligence Committee pursued the information after the call.
Schiff's office said the congressman suspected the call was 'bogus' from the beginning and reported it to authorities afterward.
But in a recording of the eight minute conversation, Schiff appeared to take the call seriously – or at least played along convincingly - and emails from the Democrat's staff to the fake politician afterwards said he had found it 'productive'.
In his latest nutty rant, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews adamantly argued that President Trump didn’t like Nancy Pelosi because she was “ethnic.” To back up his crazy point, Matthews cited another white person that Republicans supposedly attacked because they were “ethnic,” former House Speaker from Massachusetts, Tip O’Neill.
“They love to get an ethnic sort of person from one of the coasts and make them the bad person,” Matthews gushed.
The whole thing started when the Hardball host called out President Trump for daring to criticize Democrat Nancy Pelosi. On his February 5 show, Matthews played a tape of Trump saying that he hoped Pelosi would stay in office because she’s so unlikeable, that she would help Republicans win in midterm elections…
Turning to guest and Axios editor Alexi McCammond, he asked why Republicans always chose to attack “ethnic” people from the coast, lumping Pelosi into that group:
Picking on somebody from one of the coasts, usually ethnic, and making them the poster person of the Democratic party is old business for the Republicans. They did it with — way back to some guy from the Bronx back in the 40s. They did it with Bella Abzug from New York City, they did it to Tip O’Neill, they did it to Teddy Kennedy. Now they’re doing it after Nancy Pelosi.
“They love to get an ethnic sort of person from one of the coasts and make them the bad person!”
A Brooklyn man apparently decided that three was a crowd he didn’t want any part of.
The 54-year-old man admitted that he used a piece of furniture to beat up a man who he said was sexually assaulting his girlfriend.
But cops tell 1010 WINS, the three people knew each other and had a consensual three-way sexual encounter on Saturday.
When the 54-year-old man returned to his apartment on Sunday, he found his girlfriend getting reacquainted with the new man.
He allegedly flew into a jealous rage and beat the man with the wooden leg of a coffee table.
Charges were pending against the suspect on Monday, as the victim remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
The woman was treated for shock.

An adorable little boy trapped his head inside a toilet seat and had to be freed by firefighters.
The three-year-old toddler cried as firefighters first tried to cut him free but then decided to burn through the plastic instead to avoid injuring the child's fragile neck with sharp plastic shards or pliers.
The boy, who was not named, lives in the city of Nanjing, capital of East China's Jiangsu Province.
His grandparents, who look after him while his parents work, carried him to the Gulou District Fire Department with the plastic toilet seat lodged firmly around his neck.

Justin Trudeau sparked backlash online after he interrupted a woman during a town hall to tell her to use the term 'peoplekind' instead of 'mankind.'
The Canadian Prime Minister was hosting a Q&A at MacEwan University in Edmonton this week, the latest stop on a cross-country tour that began last month.
A young woman from the World Mission Society of God, a non-denominational church guided around the ideals of 'God the Mother', stood to ask a question about volunteering.
She wanted Trudeau to look into the law that involves the ability of religious charitable organizations to volunteer freely.
Citing “past comments and behavior,” Twentieth Century Fox Film has cut YouTube star Kian Lawley from the recently-completed YA adaptation “The Hate U Give,” and his role will be completely recast, the studio said Monday.
The decision comes after a video, uploaded in the past week, featured Lawley using the N word and other racial slurs [Warning: The clip contains offensive language, and is viewable here]. It is not clear when the video was shot.
Later Monday night, Lawley apologized for the video. “Words have power and can do damage. I own mine and I am sorry,” Lawley said in a statement provided to TheWrap. “I respect Fox’s decision to recast this role for The Hate U Give as it is an important story, and it would not be appropriate for me to be involved considering the actions of my past. I understand the impact and I have grown and learned since then. From now on I plan to use my voice for positive change.”
The apology is the second statement the YouTube star has made about the video, following a tweet on Sunday afternoon:
if u don’t learn from ur mistakes, u can never grow as a person.
i’ve learned a lot & i am grateful to have the power to change. i never want to be who i was yesterday. we’re in a constant battle to become a better version of ourselves, use ur voice as ur weapon.

Like many Philadelphia Eagles fans, comedian Kevin Hart just wanted to celebrate the team’s first Super Bowl victory. He was able to do just that … until he tried to get on the stage during the Super Bowl trophy presentation.
As Darrell Green was bringing the Lombardi Trophy up to the stage, NBC cameras caught a member of NFL security denying Hart from trying to get up there during the celebration.
This week, two Russian astronauts set a new world record for the longest spacewalk, lasting over eight hours outside the International Space Station (ISS).
But in the process, the astronauts managed to leave a critical antenna facing the wrong way.
Astronauts Alexander Misurkin and Anton Shkaplerov ventured out of the ISS on Friday to replace an electronics box to upgrade an antenna used for communications with Russia’s Mission Control.
The pair spent 8 hours and 13 minutes replacing the box - surpassing the previous longest spacewalk by six minutes.
It was back in October when a CNN reporter wrote a piece about how Jimmy Kimmel had become “America’s conscience,” so that myth has been floating around out there for a while. Now, MSNBC is adding its two cents, positing the theory that comics like Kimmel and Samantha Bee “are leading the way to truth” under the Trump administration. -- MSNBC: “Comedians like Jimmy Kimmel and Samantha Bee are leading the way to truth in the Trump era.” -- Rev. Mauldin 🏍 @Reverend_Ducati: “No. Not at all, you freaking dolts.” -- MSNBC is already flirting with the “fake news” tag by referring to those two as comedians, but come on … who do you think is pushing this idea that they’re “leading the way to truth?” None other than fact-challenged MSNBC host Joy Reid. She makes the case in a segment you can watch here — or not — featuring a panel of comedians including Lizz Winstead and Dean Obeidallah.

This is the amusing moment a giraffe wiped out when it was released into its new home in South Africa.
Two of the giant creatures were transported in the back of a special trailer to their new home close the South African border with Botswana on Friday.
However, when game rangers opened the trailer, the first giraffe galloped out, completely missed the ramp and face planted spectacularly into the ground.
Fortunately, the animal got up moments later unharmed.

Rose McGowan is on tour to promote her new book Brave, and it got off to a rocky start earlier in the week when the actress got into a shouting match with a transgender woman during an appearance at a Barnes and Noble bookstore. McGowan has been promoting Brave on talk shows as well as book signings, but it appears that she has canceled all upcoming appearances after the meltdown at the bookstore. In a video of the altercation, a transgender woman asks Rose McGowan about some remarks that she made on RuPaul's podcast.
In the fan-shot video footage, it appears that Rose McGowan may have been answering questions from the audience when a woman in the back steps up and says, "trans women are dying, and you said that we, as trans women, are not like regular women." She was referencing McGowan's comments on RuPaul's What's The Tee? podcast back in July of last year. The actress and woman's rights activist instantly gets angry and unleashes on the woman. Rose McGowan kept shouting, "we're the same!" back at the woman to the shock of the crowd in the bookstore.
The woman began to shout back, "this is white cis feminism!" at the top of her lungs as she was being escorted out of the building. Rose McGowan continued to shout back well after the woman was out of sight. She said.
"Don't label me, sister. Don't put your labels on me, don't you f%$#ing do that. Do not put your label on me, I don't come from your planet, leave me alone. What I do is for the f%$#ing world, and you should be f%$#ing grateful! So shut the f%$#up. Get off my back, what have you done?"

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Thursday that Russia promoted content that supported the Second Amendment on social media during the 2016 election because they wanted Americans to kill one another.
“You had the content that was clearly anti-Hillary, and you had the content that was very pro-Trump. But even the bigger quantity of content that was being pushed through social media was just content designed to pit us against each other,” Schiff said while speaking at the University of Pennsylvania.
“They also trumpeted the Second Amendment. Apparently Russians are very big fans of our Second Amendment. They don’t particularly want a Second Amendment of their own, but they’re really glad that we have one,” Schiff said. “The Russians would be thrilled if we were doing nothing but killing each other every day, and sadly we are.”

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) on Thursday doubled down on previous comments where she described wage hikes, bonuses, and additional workers’ benefits resulting from the Republican tax overhaul as mere "crumbs."
In comments made during another "Trump Tax Talk" in Massachusetts, which were flagged by America Rising, Pelosi acknowledged she has been criticized for her rhetoric on the bonuses American workers are receiving. Nevertheless, she maintained the stance that, in comparison, the benefits really are only "crumbs."
"There’s a tax advantage in the beginning for families, and that’s their enticement," Pelosi said. "While they give banquets to the high end, to the top one percent, to corporate America, they are giving, I say crumbs, they mock me in ads for saying crumbs, compared to the banquet they give to the high end."
