Surveillance video shows an attack on a mother in the Walmart parking lot

New Berlin, WI - A Wauwatosa man is accused of attacking a woman in the parking lot of the Walmart store in New Berlin after an argument about the placement of his shopping cart.

John Engebos, 60, faces one count of second degree recklessly endangering safety, one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of disorderly conduct.

According to a criminal complaint, police responded to the Walmart store near Moorland and Greenfield in New Berlin on Friday, July 20, for a report of an assault.

There, they met with Cory Richardson, 33, who indicated she was in Walmart, where she made a purchase, before leaving the store with her two children, a 9-year-old daughter and a baby, Oliver, who was in a car seat on the top of her cart. She said she saw Engebos in the parking lot with an empty cart.

Richardson indicated Engebos put his cart halfway onto a grassy median, partially blocking her vehicle, instead of returning it to the cart corral.

"And I yelled to him to please put his cart away, and he said 'no, there's people who get paid to do that'," said Richardson.

She said when she asked him to at least move the cart out of the way of her vehicle, "he attacked her." She said she was pushed to the ground, and her infant rolled through the lot in her cart unattended.

She said she was punched and kicked by Engebos, and he pulled out her hair. She said he also took her car keys, and when she tried to get them, he threw them. She said he pushed her cart further away before getting into his vehicle -- nearly running over her family and a witness before fleeing the scene.

    moku 1237 1

An elderly worshipper had a close call on Monday when a 100-kg (220 lb) stone suddenly fell from Jerusalem's Western Wall and crashed at her feet.

The Israel Antiquities Authority said the boulder may have been dislodged by erosion caused by vegetation or moisture in the biblical wall, the holiest place where Jews are permitted to pray.

"I didn't hear or feel anything until it landed right at my feet," Daniella Goldberg, a 79-year-old Jerusalem resident who had gone to the wall in the early morning to worship, told Reuters.

A security camera captured the rare occurrence at the site revered by Jews as a remnant of the compound of the Second Temple destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.

One of Islam's holiest sites, the Noble Sanctuary, where al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock stand, lies above.

The footage showed the stone falling from a height of about seven meters (23 feet) in a nearly vacant section of the wall adjacent to its picture-postcard main plaza, where Jewish worshippers traditionally cram written prayers into crevices.

Bank Robber Fatally Shot By Chase Bank Security Guard

Madison, WI - Authorities have identified a man that was shot and killed during an attempted bank robbery in Madison on Thursday afternoon on March 1st.

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office said 35-year-old Luis Marty Narvaez of South Milwaukee was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Narvaez was not armed when he tried to rob the Chase Bank on Milwaukee Street around 4:50 p.m.

"It was at that point that apparently an armed security guard stationed at the bank engaged this suspect and shot him," Koval said. "Ultimately this individual did succumb to his injuries and is now dead."

Koval said the man did not have gun, but he acted like he did.

Koval said the man’s criminal record showed he has robbed a bank in the past.

Koval said the armed guard has been working at the bank for about three weeks. He said right now the Dane County District Attorney is not looking at charging the security guard.

Off Duty Services, the Texas-based company, that was contracted by Chase Bank for security confirmed the security guard in Thursday’s incident is a police officer in our area, but would not name which department.

Florida Man Shoots Man Who Pushes Him, Does Not Get Charged Because Of Stand Your Ground Law!

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri announced Friday that his agency will not arrest a man deputies say fatally shot another man during an argument over a handicap parking space.

The incident falls under Florida’s self-defense law known as "stand your ground," the sheriff said during a news conference. The law protects from arrest those in fear of their lives who use force to defend themselves.

The shooting "is within the bookends of stand your ground and within the bookends of force being justified," the sheriff said, later adding, "I’m not saying I agree with it, but I don’t make that call."

The agency will forward the case to the State Attorney’s Office to make a final decision, Gualtieri said.

The decision sprouts from a fight in a convenience store parking lot Thursday afternoon between Michael Drejka, 47, and Markeis McGlockton, 28. According to deputies, Drejka confronted McGlockton’s girlfriend, Britany Jacobs, about parking in a handicap space without a permit.

After the investigation into Bankroll Fresh's death was officially closed last month, new footage of the final moments before he was killed has surfaced. On Tuesday (July 17), Atlanta news outlet 11Alive shared a roughly two-minute clip of an altercation between the rapper and No Plug, which was apparently the catalyst for Bankroll Fresh being gunned down in March 4, 2016. In the brief video, fellow rapper No Plug is seen walking into Atlanta’s Street Execs Studio. Bankroll quickly confronts him and a fight erupts. Neither of the men had guns at the time but several other men present at the scene were reportedly armed. Minutes after the altercation, the men peel away from the scene in a Dodge Charger only to return with firearms. Bankroll meets them outside with a SKS rifle, as he's backed by his entourage who also have their guns drawn. Bankroll fires the first shot toward the vehicle and the men in the Charger retaliate, shattering the glass on the front door. It's at this point that authorities believe Bankroll suffered a bullet to his right hip. The "M.O.B." rapper is later seen being carried out of the recording studio to be taken to the local area hospital. Bankroll died of his injuries just a few hours later.

Convenience store owner arrested for shooting beer thief

A Polk County man is facing charges after deputies say he shot a thief stealing beer from the convenience store he co-owns with his father.

The incident happened around 11:40 Tuesday night at the Shell gas station on Combee Road North in Lakeland.

Deputies say 43-year-old Rennie Defoe Jr. went into the store, grabbed three 18-packs of Natural Ice beer worth $36, and walked out of the store without paying.

When Defoe walked out of the store, deputies say 22-year-old Mehedeun Hasan grabbed a 9mm handgun from the office and ran out to confront Defoe. Hasan co-owns the gas station with his father, 61-year-old Q M Monsur Rahman.

Surveillance video from outside the store shows Defoe tossing the stolen beer into the passenger seat of his car and then getting in and shutting the door. Hasan is then seen running up to the car and pointing the gun at Defoe.

Deputies say Hasan shot Defoe as he was backing his car up to leave. Defoe continued to drive away and then crashed at the intersection of East Main Street and Fish Hatchery Road, according to a sheriff's office report.

Defoe was taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center to be treated for a gunshot wound to his left arm and chest. He's currently in critical condition.

Deputies arrested Hasan on Wednesday and charged him with shooting into an occupied vehicle and attempted second-degree murder. The sheriff's office says he has no prior criminal history.

Deputies say Defoe has 12 prior felony charges and nine prior misdemeanors including robbery, firing a missile into a dwelling, battery, grand theft and grand larceny. He's been sentenced to Florida State prison four times and was most recently released just last month, on June 12.

An elderly man walking along a Berkeley sidewalk is recovering after being set upon by a group of young men and brutally kicked multiple times in an attack caught on security cameras.

On Wednesday, Berkeley police released videos of the July 6th attack in hopes of getting help in identifying the suspects.
